The Animal Welfare League receives many animals on a daily basis. It is not uncommon for the League to take in up to 20 dogs per day, and each year throughout kitten season we often take in over 100 cats and kittens every day.
This is a large number to comprehend, but the dedicated staff and volunteers handle each animal individually. Every dog and cat, sometimes rabbits, lambs and chickens too, undergo thorough health and temperament testing, ensuring that each animal that is suitable to be re-homed gets that opportunity.
After each animal has passed its temperament and health tests, they are suitable to go up for pet adoption.
They are then de-sexed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and vaccinated, so that they are ready to go when they find their new owners.
Our volunteers and staff donate much of their time, walking dogs, cuddling cats and spending as much time possible with each animal, so that they are happy and prepared for the pet adoption process, and ready for a loving home.
Our shelter is located at 1-19 Cormack Road, Wingfield. Contact the Wingfield shelter for any pet adoption inquiries now on 8348 1300.
