Dog Walking

Both our Shelter and Boarding dogs benefit from our team of dog walkers.

Our roster runs 7 days per week, ensuring our animals have regular companionship and exercise. For our shelter dogs, this can make the difference between being rehomed sooner, and for our boarding dogs it assists in how well they cope while they are away from their owners.

The staff are free to achieve their many tasks, and the animals enjoy their stay with us and learn some skills. Our Volunteers also learn new skills, as each one of them attends a special Positive Reinforcement class designed to teach them reward based training for dogs.

Volunteer dog walking is highly rewarding for both the dogs and the volunteers.

Cat Cuddling

Every day we have Volunteers who come to play with the cats in our shelter and boarding areas.

Cats can become very unhappy when lacking human attention, so regular cuddles ensure that they become and remain approachable. Our cat cuddlers also provide our cats with vital mental stimulation.

Cleaning

7 days a week we have wonderful helpers who assist by washing food bowls, litter trays and bedding. The staff refer to these Volunteers as our 'Angels' because of the wonderful work they do.

Every task taken on by a Volunteer means that our employed 'experts' can devote more time to the wellbeing of the animals, and our Volunteers find satisfaction in knowing how important their work is.
